+ The Cambodian government has hired American company General Electric to refine the country’s coal-based power plants. General Electric is also helping Cambodia to develop its green energy technology (hydroelectric power, wind and natural gases).

+ Singapore-based Sunseap Group will build Cambodia’s first large-scale solar power plant in Bavet City, Svay Rieng province, which will feed 10 MW into the national grid upon completion.

+ Following the signing of Memorandums of Understanding at the 2016 Russian-ASEAN summit, the minister of mines and energy mentioned that the Cambodian government is considering nuclear energy as an option.

+Finnish company Pöyry has secured an owner's engineer services assignment for a 150 MW thermal power plant project in Sihanoukville.
